what are y'all paying per acre where you live? Land is expensive!

Like others have said...location...location...location...
I live 30 miles west-north west of Charlotte NC...
The growth of Charlotte is driving up land prices here in Catawba County...
The farm that I live on is 100 acres...
My dad turned down 2M five years ago...
Now it would bring 2.5 to 3M...
It's in my name now...
It's not for sale...

A new highway took my homeplace in 03...
The state gave my father 320K for the house and 2 acres of land that was valued at 180K...
And then they paid him 540K for the remaining 23 acres...
That was in 03...

This is still not over...
He was left with 49 acres on the interchange...
It's for sale...
A 22 acre parcel across the road from his property brought 5.5M...
And get this...
The final grading and paving is not scheduled to start until August of next year...

They're not making any more land...
And the cost associated with ownership will continue to rise...

Just bought nine acres in Bedford County, VA for retirement in ~12 years from now. Cost per acre ~$12,500. Figured while I have a job, I might as well go for it now versus what it may cost in the future. The mortgage rate is slightly above inflation, so I hope that area's (Location, Location, Location) appreciation rate will far exceed the inflation rate. Anyway here are a few pictures of the land which is clear and can be used for farming or residential. I'll have fun on my Kubota that is for sure.

land is just crazy......there's a 21 acre field about a mile from the farm I bought and they want 15K per acre.....now my closest neighbor has around 1200-1300 acres.....talk about money!!! and I'm in Alabama!!!

I just bought 7.5 acres in the Saint Francis mountain area of Southeast MO.
I paid 3300 an acre. It adjoined 36.5 acres that I inherited so my average is $568 per acre.

It's all timber except for 2 acres and it backs up to National Forest land. It has a very cold 290' deep well and a power pole.

We bought our place last October. 21 acres with an 80 foot barn, another barn that was converted into a 3 car garage, and an old slate covered 5 bay shed. A 3300 square foot 1840 farm house that was redone in the 70s. Mostly grown up fields. Mostly have small farms around us. Only 5 minutes to town. We like it except my wife said we were down sizing now that it is only the two of us and the dog. we paid approx 280k. When we were looking it would have cost us that much for less acres and a modular home by the time you install the septic and well. Thats with no out buildings. She got the house and I got the tractor.
