I have been working on the technology parts. I am switching our church phone system over to VOIP so each staff person can take their office phone home or answer it virtually. I have twice now recorded the Sunday service and streamed or uploaded them to YouTube.
A friend of a friend lives down in a valley and gets no cell service and they are about a half a Km from the last Internet service provider. Their only option is dialup and that really does not work. There are three homes clustered with no services. They typically go to a coffee shop to connect and call their son who is living across the Pacific. They are struggling in these days with everything shut down and isolated. I just offered them a solution to extend Internet from the top of the hill to the three homes. They will get about 50 to 100Mbps.
Layoffs in the retail and service industry is huge. Our food bank is seeing a great increase in new people who have never visited before. I encourage everyone to make an extra donation to their closest food bank and soup kitchen. I can afford a tractor and have a pantry full of food so a few hundred to each organization each month is our approach for the difficult months ahead.
Stay safe.
