my cheque comesduring the week of the 20th of August according to the letter the IRS was wasteful enough to send me today.
my 2nd half taxes are alo due in September but that won't even cover half ... and besides, our friend Dubya wants us to kickstart the economy. Let's see ... the email I just got pegs 256mb ram simms at $40 ... so I could buy 15 simms and really treat my computers. Wonder if this puppy could handle 1.2gb ...

Jim, we both own 11 acres and I pay 10 times your property tax. Maybe that's the real meaning of the Big East.
In order for your rebate to stimulate the economy like Dubya wants, we're supposed to blow that money. Just remember that you would still have to pay the taxes even if you didn't get that check.
My taxes on 24 acres were $850 last year but the valuation was quadrupled for next year. I had a protest hearing and got it reduced from $7200 and acre down to $4000 on the basis that 60% of my land is in the flood plain. Of course all of this is with no improvements. I now have the metal building I live in, and will build a house someday. This is why I've got to get that ag exemption, which means I've got to get some coastal hay going, which means I need that disk./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.
I thought about getting 12 of those cameras too, but I couldn't figure out what to do with 11 of them. Figured that was a waste......

Our local news (Atlanta) ran a story that said the IRS had a computer problem and all married couples got the same $600 refund letter. Then they said, "Don't spend it yet", there was a mistake and not all couples will receive $600. I only heard this story run one time and never on the national news so I don't know if it is true. Anyone else hear anything like that?
