What Attachment Scares You The Most?

With my M's folding the ROPS is NOT an option as the cab unit has it's ROPS built into the cab frame and my open station has a canopy attached to the ROPS so they are always 'deployed' and yes I wear a lap belt in the cab unit. The open station has no seatbelt. Never did.
My Massey is the fist tractor I rode that had a ROP's... all the one prior was pre 1980 so didn't had one...

As far as the tread question, do you fine one of your implements more dangerous then others ?

I can see folding it if it presents a clearance issue like keeping it in your garage for instance. In my case, the units stay in the equipment barn and it has a 14 foot high overhead door. ROPS structures are 100% operator discretion until something unforseen happens and then it's the I should have but didn't. Not something I'm concerned about in reality.

Not really other than maybe my disc bine. I have to be careful with it because the rotating knives can cause small rocks to get ejected forward when mowing. Even my owners manual cautions about that and recommends mowing with an enclosed cab tractor instead of an open station.

I have no issues with any of my implements at all (other than the disc bine) because I always am careful about hooking them up and aware of what is out back, always. The big issue is really side clearance when cutting forage. The mower has to run offset all the time, way offset so as not to recut the already cut material so it's way out there to the right or left side depending on which way I'm mowing. Why I have 3 cameras facing backwards, so I can readily see where it's at, especially when mowing close to obstacles like fence posts or barns. Now that I bought the Kubota F series front mount diesel mower, I've taken to mowing a 72" swath around the hayfields so I don't have to get overly close to anything. I lose a bit of alfalfa but the benefit is, I don't have to worry about running into an immovable object and damaging the unit. Not the only one around here that does that either.

Modern Era. Post hole digger. Back in the day I never even wanted to be close to a Dearborn mower Attachment!
Why keeping your fingers away from the knives when raising the cutter bar is the biggest operator issue.

Critters on the ground is a separate matter.

In reality the PTO shaft on any equipment warrants continuous respect.

I’m glad you explained why you picked the weight box up like that. I was also thinking “is he trying to tip his tractor over”. I run around with my rops down all the time, it depends on what I’m doing if I put it up or not.

I don’t know that I’m really afraid of any attachment, I feel if I’m going to get hurt it’s hooking something up, like a smashed or pinched finger. I did dump my weight box over once, not close to hurting myself but I had to empty it out to get it upright again.

Actually - none of mine really scare me. Sometimes hooking up my class 2 implements gets a little dicy and I fear for my hands/fingers. I got a 14 inch dibble - made by Crescent - for that final inch or so.

However - a couple years ago. Adjusting my rear blade. I thought the tractor was sitting on level ground. Pulled the pin on offset. I was in an awkward position and could not get out of the way of the swinging rear blade. Flat on my back - the rear blade make a slicing arc - right over the center of my body.

You talk about - "suck it up". This 'ol fart became the Thin Man. Left a line of dirt right across my tummy.

I wasn't so much scared as mad. Mad that I could have been so careless and let that happen.

A boom pole flitching out logs is a worry.
