Thanks for all the Ideas,

---------------------------------------------

Anyone think my rock rake idea with the gauge wheels set so the rake rides about 1/2 inch above the ground will work? That way I will have other uses for the piece of equipment .
Do you have a picture of the rock rake?

This is usually called a landscape rake.

Mounted out front would be the way to go.

Another option is to throw an old truck rim over it and use it as a fire pit for the summer. Roast a few marsh-mellows and down a few cold ones while swapping stories over a nice fire and your stump will fade away. :drink:

Outstanding idea!

I found your solution (besides the chainsaw). $50
The Nut Wizard Pick Up Nuts and Sweet Gumballs, Harvesting Pecans, Walnuts, Acorns
Watch the video. It seems to do a good job.

Yes that is what I call a rock rake / landscape rake, and I would get a lighter weight one, something in the 200 to 300 lb range. And I know that it will dig into the high spots, but after going over them a few times I won't have high spots and then just reseed that area.

What about a Billy Goat. A friend of mine has one, 13 HP, and he says it really works to clean the yard, leaves small twigs branches etc.
He picked the 13HP because of the Honda motor or else he would have purchased the next larger model Briggs. Maybe that has changed now. Below is just a note from the web site and not the link. Just type in Billy Goat and it will come up.

The F13 series is a favorite for full-size landscapers, seal coaters, schools, cemeteries, resorts, park and street departments, golf and estate properties. 6.2 times the power of a backpack.

No. I do not think it will work. I think you'll be driving back and forth trying to rake a lawn so much that you'll flatten your lawn, pull out the grass and end up with a dirt patch. Yikes, that sounds harsh. Don't mean it to sound that way at all. Just doesn't come out well in written type. ;)

Listening quite close to this. I've got 15-20 red oak trees around the property here, and am tired of the constant raking. 2-3 utility trailers full of acorns. Luckily there not spikey, but I've rolled my ankle on them more then a few times. I've looked at the nut rake thing, but it would be full in no time. No further ahead then raking them up.
