what baler is it

Hi all,

I have just bought an old New Holland square baler and I don't know the model. It has done a lot of work and I can hardly read the plate but it looks like 317 is there such a thing?

It's not cutting the twine on one side on 1 in 3 or so bales. I'm new to this any suggestions would be a great help.

Are you using plastic or sisal twine. Sisal cuts easier ... also cutters can be sharpened.

I'm using poly twine it's all we can get here in Australia.

Is it hard to get kinves out?

I dont know your baler. Someone who does should answer soon. On my International Harvester the twine cutter is right next to the knotter and cuts as the knot is pulled off the knotter by the finished bale. You could probably sharpen them in place.
