i have a 2500lbs warn but i need more power . it is just about maxed out with everything i added to the hpx the last time i got stuck the winch was really struggling but it did it's job.i plan on getting a 3k or 4 k with my next utv.but it will be a warn for sure.

I agree with Tommy. The 2500 is almost too small for an hpx or xuv.
It gets the job done. My next purchase would be a 3 or 4k warn.

There got my winch on. Its only a 2,000 pounds but that will be fine for me The main use of it will be to raise and lower the snow plow. And if I get stuck or need to pull a post out or something. The gator is what about 700 to 800 pounds and the winch is 2,000 so it should pull me out just fine. Everyone says how the HDAP tires are useless but they seem fine to me. Once you get down a few inches in the mud.

Yea looking in the manual now it says Weight (includes fuel/fluids) 840 pounds.

Tommy when I was initially shopping for a winch for my 1200 lb Ranger I was looking for a 2000 or 2500 lb winch. Everyone said that I needed to double that. By the time you consider the dry weight of the vehicle, two 200lb passengers and gear in the bed, you need more pulling power. Even Polaris sells the 4K lb Warn as a bolt on winch for the Ranger. Mine has effortlessly pulled me out twice without a bit of hessitation.

my hpx is topping a good 1500 and when it's stuck it's dead weight. the winch pulls it out but it's on the verge of being maxed out. i think if his utv is 840 pounds then a warn 2500 would do ok . i know they tried to pawn off a 2k super winch on me when i first got my hpx it lasted 5 minute sit couldn't even pull the hpx out the mud it burned up. and the 2500 i have to help it sometimes with giving it the gas so i think the next one i get will be a 3k or 4 k warn. i know it's not a power thing i have or had two batteries and a car alternator pushing enough juice to run anything i wanted. deere wasn't offereing the 4k winch with the hpx when i got mine,lol i wish they was.
