What can a Garden tractor handle

What brand tractor is that? is it a 3pnt hitch or something custom?

I read that these engines were one of the best and could be rebuilt may times. I was told that the only thing ever done to this engine was the head removed and carbon cleaned.

I think you got a lot of tractor for the money you spent. It's been repainted and from the photos it looks to have been VERY well maintained. Attachments are available on Ebay and some still from Deere new for a LARGE amount of money. The only thing to be aware of is that the 400 has it's own frame, slightly larger than the later 425, and other tractors. You will also notice that the rear wheels are peculiar to this model alone as far as the bolt pattern.

NIce 400- they are sweethearts with a lot of history behind them. Really the first SGT-- Super Garden Tractor. (Probably one of if not the COOLEST looking GT of all time IMHO!)
