I know I'm redundant, but I'd let the new owners make the decision to paint it, tear it down or leave it in place as-is...or...you can do it for them, if that's what they want.

This is the best advice I have seen so far. Wait untill sell time. If the new potential buyers will pay more without the fence then remove it. Odds are they will prefer to keep it. Cost money (profit) to remove and a lot more to replace. Even cheaper white fence adds up. If thats the heavier gauge or has the metal inserts in the rails to prevent sagging or livestock issues your talking top of the line.

Excellent point. I agree. The only downside would be weed eating around the posts.

I do not know how PVC posts stand up to string trimmers, does anyone?

A lot of PVC exterior building products can't be painted. We had to order "paintable" vinyl shutters & gable louvers if they were to be painted. Andersen windows vinyl cladding can be painted a lighter color only, you can't paint a white window anything but white. Step I'd try to find the "make" of that material and get a confirmation from them before I spent the time & money on a bunch of paint that didn't work and turned my $30k+ fence into a pile of wet noodles.
I'd bet the fence contractor that installed it has his sign some were on that fence, He'll know the answer.

I would leave that fence alone, not even touch it with a weedeater, which will cause damage. I would spray carefully around the posts to kill the weeds and grass. Expensive fencing plus!

Just curious...as a GC do you not have professional sub contractors that could offer professional advice on the subject over mostly amateur opinions??

Guaranteed somewhere on that fence is the manufacturer's name and or the company that sold it to the original buyers. I would find their name, ask them what it cost for the material AND labor to put that fence in, and how many feet of fence it is total. I guarantee you the price of that entire fence will blow you away.
DO NOT ever think of painting it, period. And NEVER black. You will destroy what you have. Vinyl cannot go to black from white, PERIOD. I also guarantee it will warp and twist, and then you will have taken something with value and created a complete eyesore, and then you WILL have to remove it too.
Tell your wife to not let her personal taste interfere with your profit motive. The house/farm stable IS in horse country and that is where you need to market it. Check with local large stable owners, show them pictures, etc. I am certain they will agree to rip it out would be foolish. If you rip it where are you when someone who wants to use the property for horses asks or better yet says, "I'd buy it in a second if the pastures/paddocks were fenced?!'
Let the new buyer tear it out- you gain nothing and stand to loose greatly. Look past the fence!
I'd bet you have a $100K or more in fence there right now.
The people who can afford to install that much high end quality fence; the saying goes, if you have to ask, you can't afford it. Applies to Boats, horses, and high end 'farms' etc.

Not on fencing. I was looking for keep it or get rid of it. I agree, leave it white, leave most of it in place, and see what happens.

OP that is a nice looking place.. if you keep it and keep at least part of the fence see if you can maybe get some local kid off his or her iPhone long enough to string trim that place.
