So the 4310 is on its way, and as I wait I have begun to wonder what the limitations are. What size saplings can I cut with this machine?? 1"? 1 1/2"? I have very dense prickers all over, will I have a problem?

Thanks for the input!!

The MX5 is a medium duty cutter. You could comfortably cut about 2" thick material. This is I believe what the cutter's operational manual recommends. The manuel is quite informative and should tell you everything you need to know. Anything greater may be problematic. If all you have are those 1" thick or so sticker bushes, you shouldn't have any problems.

In addition to the info. that has already been posted; the short answer is.......... pretty much anything that tractor can drive over. If it can't push it over, better leave it alone and get the chainsaw out. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ahhh, now you're speaking my language Chief!! Practical knowledge I can use in the field. I was kind of leaning that way from the videos I have seen. Looked like as long as the tractor ran it down, it was game for the cutter (within reason of course!!).

Thanks for the response!!

I'm in the market for a 5' cutter, how much are these MX5's going for? I have an MX8 and it is a really nice piece of equipment. I would like to have a MX5 to put behind my 1959 430 but they are probably too many $'s. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

With a good deal the MX5 can be gotten for cheaper but this web site should give you a ballpark idea on price. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
