Ferguson implements could be assembled/disassembled with a single proprietary combination wrench in 11/16" + 1-1/16" AF/Across-the-Flats. The Ferguson implement wrench shows up on eBay from time to time at reasonable prices because they do not fit common nuts.

Ford's vanadium steel was the best available in its era and I think it is a safe deduction that vanadium steel was used for Ferguson bolts.

I speculate that Grade 8, fine thread, bolts and nuts are at least as strong today, probably stronger.

I speculate that a nut tightened to show two threads on a greased bolt yielded an acceptable torque, not more, not less.

The early Fords were almost all 11/16" as well. I still have several of the Ford 11/16" wrenches of the 1940's and 1950's that were handed down to me.

Last summer I discovered one of my first cousins, resident on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, inherited a Ferguson TO-20 in original condition from his late FIL. Cousin uses it mostly for mowing.

I am looking forward to operating it in September on his 23 acres. I have seen many Fergusons in museum settings, never operating.

I have never personally seen a Ferguson tractor nor Ferguson implement for sale in Florida. I often see Ford 8Ns and 9Ns but not Fergusons.
