2017 Kubota L2501
I have a Kobota L2501 with an L525 FEL. For those not familiar with the kubota FEL the 525 means 525 kilogram lift capacity. As far as attachments go, what would be considered to heavy of an attachment for my FEL, 200, 300 400 ........ pounds. I realize the lighter the better, to help keep the lift capacity for the object being lifted but sometimes light come at the cost of strength. I have my 66 inch bucket as well as a set of 3700 lbs capacity pallet forks and have had no problems lifting anything I have wanted but I have no idea what either one weighs.

This has been on my radar while considering a snow pusher. The pusher doesn’t have to lift any additional weight though. Anyway, for a ballpark numbers my 72 inch light material bucket weighs in at 331 lbs.

I'm in the same boat with my L3400. Remember your lift capacity is measured at the pins, so even the SSQA takes away from your total capacity. my 2000lb capacity 42" HLA pallet forks weigh in at 350 lbs which is over a 1/3 of my capacity without considering the effect of leverage of the load out 42".

personally given the choice, I'd try to keep any attachments under 450 lbs. Just remember heavy doesn't always mean strong!

Front tires inflated to proper level, pressure relief as part of FEL system will tell you when you have too much.......pushing lever into lift position produces zero results and you might hear the relief valve screeching. Usually set high enough above the lift capacity of your machine to not interfere with normal operation but be there before you damage your equipment.

For safety, always carry load as low as practical when transporting.

I don’t think there is any magic number that says x pounds is good but x+1 pound is unacceptable. Obviously lighter is better, but if you go too light it’ll get torn up.

What have you used, or what are you planning, for Three Point Hitch counterbalance to your FEL load?

You need 800 pounds to 900 pounds on the Three Point Hitch in order to safely lift and transport 1,100 pounds with the FEL over a SMOOTH, LEVEL surface. The further to the rear counterbalance protrudes, the more effective the weight.

Sometimes you just have to kind of guess. For example when I rocked my drive way. I used my little massey ferguson 1531 tractor because of convience. Now my allis Chalmers 185 would have done the job,but it would have been cumbersome. Now wJen I scooped the rock with the little massey, you just had to"get a feel" for it. Did the back of the tractor seen a little light??? Was the bucket completely full and rounded over??? Did the loader seem to struggle or be a little slow when you try to lift the load??? These are all pretty good indicator you might want to lighten you load or in my example dump out a little bit of the gravel. Now for my allis Chalmers 185. I generally use a big round bale for a counter weight. When I decide to scrap out and old pickup or piece of machinery, i use the allis for its all around ruggedness. I have literally picked up old machinery and drove over and load on my trailer. I know I have had over 3,000 plus lbs lifted up with the allis.i know it will lift the back of an old John Deere 55 combine, but when I tried to lift the front of the combine, that was a no go. The allis is only 2 wheel drive so it is pretty easy to tell when you have too much weight up on the loader. Even thought you tractor is still on the ground, you so light on the back the you can't get ant traction to move. That may be a good test for you, slip it into 2 wheel drive and see if you got enough traction to move. Just my thoughts.
