A friend of mine picked this propane fed sweeper up recently. It has a Continental four cylinder in it. It has about 215 hours on it. The machine is all hydraulic including the single drive wheel. The fan and two sets of brushes are all driven by hydraulic motors. We are trying to sell it and may be stuck with it. So I am thinking about how to dispose of it properly by making something worthwhile out of it. Now a few thoughts that keep going through my head are a stump grinder, or a power pack for my 3ph wood splitter. The wood splitter would be my first choice as I have one for the back of my tractor. I could very easily saddle it up to this motor/hydraulic unit and have a unit that could actually be driven around to move it instead of being towed. The stump grinder would really be a challenge to make. I could really amke some use out of a stump grinder. What are your thoughts on using something like this for?

How about selling it as is? 215 hours is nothing on something like that (unless the hour meter turned over). We have one at work, very common in warehouse/factory environments. Ebay?

Fellow I worked with connected the hydrostatic pump to a big motor and ran hydraulic hose to his shop equipment. Then connected the hydraulic motors to the shop equipment to get variable speed drive for it all. (mill, lathe, drill press etc)

A guy in my neighborhood cleans the streets in subdivisions under consruction. The construction crews leave the streets in bad shape. He gets payed to clean the streets before the weekend rush. He scrapes with a blade then finishes with a sweeper like that.

Sell it in tact on Ebay.

How about adding a water tank on the back?
Then you'd have a poor mans zamboni. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I put it on Ebay the other night. Not even a bid at .99 yet. Only 9 lookers.

Way too heavy for a yard vac. There is too much steel around it for that.

No Zamboni either. I'd have to put a heater in it to melt the ice.
