Gary,
Thanks for the tips. I still liked the smaller bikes for sport riding. Never had a chance to tour. First bike was a Yamaha DT250 Enduro. Lots of fun and could go anywhere. Torky little thing! Second bike was a Yamaha RD400. I ended up modifying the heck out of it and converting it to a drag bike. 11.90s in the 1/4 with a 200 pound guy on it ain't bad for a 400CC bike. Could have made some more mods to get it down close to 10 seconds, but then it wouldn't have been streetable. Still have it in pieces in a storage shed. Every time I look at that thing it sacres me /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Last bike was a 70's Honda 750-4. Had a nice 4 into 1 pipe. It was purple with a windshield. Smooth running bike but a lead sled, so to speak.

When the kids are grown up I wouldn't mind getting a vintage Honda touring bike, restoring it and taking some trips with the wife. Those Indiana corn fields on a cool fall day... nothing better /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just might have the bike for you when I get my 1800 outfitted properly. I have pretty much committed my 1500 to a friend and had planned on keeping the 1100 just because it's over twenty years old and still such a nice bike. Truth be told, though, I'd probably rather see it go to someone who'd use it as a tourer.

If I keep it I'd be tempted to strip off the fairing, windshield, box and bags to use it just as a cruiser and, quite frankly, she just plain deserves better. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ahh, a thing of beauty! Mine was red. Yours looks to have different rear shocks and non stock handle bars.

Ya, the old shocks gave up right after I got it. Those ones were from anouther bike, they just happand to fit. As for the bar. Ya, it is a straight drag bar. Gets a little more much needed weight over the front tire. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
