I had to do some mowing with my TC40D, to help a friend prepare for a wedding at their house. And, needed to move some mulch. For mowing, I decided to remove the loader.

So, I removed the loader, then mowed, and tried to reinstall it. I could only get one hose to quick connect(2nd from top, with blue dust cap). None of the other three would go back in all the way. I finally figured there may be residual pressure on the line. I put a triple folded rag over the hose end, and pressed it against the loader frame. It squirted fluid(caught by rag...). Then, I was able to reconnect; I had to do all three suspect hoses.

I have had the loader off 7 or 8 times in the last year, and never had an issue reinstalling. I did not do anything special when I removed it before.

Any idea's?

Oh, and of course, I have a tractor manual, but no loader manual(17 series for Super Steer).

you need to reliese the pressure from the lines BEFORE you "disconnect" them.
when you go to "reconnect" them, you should have no problem.

moveing the joystick lever in all direction before you disconnect the lines, will reliese the pressure from the lines.

Did that...

Had to do that on my old Kubota too; I had the manual for the Bushhog loader on that tractor. It was a quick attach

moving the joystick lever in all direction before you disconnect the lines, will release the pressure from the lines.

I'd bet a dollar to a donut that you disconnected when the loader was cool and it sat in the sun or at least warmed a bit before you tried to re-install the loader. I went out one day in Texas and my hoses had straightened themselves out like. . . well. . . let's just say a balloon filling with air.:eek::D It was a very hot day and the loader was directly in the sun. No telling how much pressure was built up in the hoses. I had to loosen the fittings to relieve the pressure. I couldn't get them to release any other way. I'm betting heat is also your culprit. The only way I know to prevent this is to keep four spare female fittings so you can put them onto the hoses after you remove them. That way any expansion can bleed off. You only need two (one for each circuit in either hose).

I did take it off about 8am, and reinstalled about 1pm. It was in full sun, although only maybe 75F this afternoon.

That's warm enough to cause the problem, especially with black hoses. I ran into the same thing this winter with my hydraulic lines on the rear blade cylinder.

disconnect the lines AFTER shutting down the engine and then cycling the control stick all directions.

if the above doesnt work, you can try the following. Most likely the male ends of the loader hoses have a little nub sticking out. Cover the fitting with a rag and strike the end with a mallet. This will release excess pressure/fluid from the hose. you may have to do this to all 4 hoses.

Ive had to do this in the past. Now i always remove and store loader in the shade.

Great minds think alike :D That is how I did the first one. I only had one layer of rag covering it though; it tore away when I tapped it with the mallet. That is when I triple it up and pressed it against the loader frame.
