What did you BREAK this week?

/ What did you BREAK this week? #33
Just yesterday i broke the water line and electrical going accross the street to my pasture. It runs electric fence and supplies water to the horse water trough.

But i have an excuse.

There installing fider to the neighborhood. My pipes were 24” below grade (summer water only) and there pulling cable 36” deep. So i dug a hole to expose pipes, broke pipes and pulled out wires and cut water pipe.

Ill repair it after the fiber gets layed next week.

I do hate having to do this again.

It seems like im not really breaking stuff each week….just fixing stuff each week. I have a new shower faucet cartridge sitting next to my keyboard for basement shower…..next fix

Early summer replaced 2 of 3 blade spindles, and 2 pulleys on my 20+ year old JD 155c riding mower. Checked over the others to make sure everything was fine. It's been retired to bagging the leaves and first spring cuttings of grass so not a lot of use anymore.
So in the middle of bagging the leaves last week before the rains hit the deck idler pulley spring decides to commit Hari Kari. Checked Amazona and it was hit or miss for crap springs, so much for overnight/2 day shipping, so had to buy OEM online and a week later got it installed for the second round of leaves.

JD/Pape decided they didn't want a compact tractor/mower sales/repair shop and a HD commercial shop in the same town so they got rid of the small shop after building a new outfit barely 5 or 6 years earlier. Commercial will not even order parts. Hour drive north or an hour south for parts now.

It is spring here, so yesterday, gloryfully sunny, was time to start doing the garden, first time in 8 months. First found the hedge cutter, but that little plastic piece in the rope starter, that comes out and grabs the flywheel, broke. There is no replacement part anymore, so I will have to become inventive. OK, then let's go and prune the thicker branches with the chain saw. Same plastic starter piece problem here, although repair part still available. A lot of hours left, so what else is there? Some pressure washing things around the house maybe? Yeah, dhuhu. As Hondas do, this one started fine, but the brass high pressure outlet of the pump housing got a small split, enough to immediately soak everything around all over. After that I was so desperate that I just went and against all my principles washed my car, imagine that. My buzzer toothbrush later on did still work well, though.

Anyway, repair time this weekend.

I don’t believe in witchcraft, mind reading, Voodoo or curses but this thread might be a curse. I bent my top link today. I have Pats on the bottom and disconnected them but forgot the top link. My ballast box tipped over. The box tipped over and bent the top link, new one a little less than $40. I had an old one that I took the threaded end out to use but it was the wrong thread direction.
