I bought one of those pumps a few months ago. I think they will sell more of them now.
Trash pumps tend to be good for volume, not so much pressure. So if you want to wet stuff down that's nearby quickly - great. If you want to spray stuff that's a bit further away, the water may not reach. Check the pressure/volume curve.I bought a HF 2" gas power water (aka trash) pump. I'm putting a fire fighting trailer together using a few IBC totes, pump, and 2" hose reel.
Centrifugal pumps make pretty good pressure. I don't need to spray far. We will see...Trash pumps tend to be good for volume, not so much pressure. Good steel aint cheapBought about $70 worth of steel drops from the local steel supplier just to have on hand for any projects I may come up with.
The square/rectangular pieces are 1730 steel, I believe it's equivalent to the 1045 in the US. And the round pieces is 2711 steel, which is a prehardened tool steel. Very tough stuff to machine.
