Well, we got a blizzard, but our family got together before it arrived and we we were able to enjoy the holiday. One gift we got is the announcement that we are going to be grandparents again. This will be our son's and daughter-in-law's first, we are really excited, what a gift! We all got the others gifts but the greatest gift was our coming together to celebrate the holiday with each other.

I did get some new Carharts, an insulated vest and a couple of new Leatherman multi-tools. Santa sadly did not bring me a new cab tractor ( I would not of cared what color, but I think the elves were on strike). well maybe next year, what did you get?

I got many nice things, brand names. Everything made in China except for my new calender of Andy Griffith show. That was made in Korea.

My family hasn't exchanged gifts for years. We all have too much "stuff" already. We got together for a nice Christmas dinner and a few hours of visiting with family. I guess the gift was that we all like each other.

Same situation here. I keep say I don't want anything but they don't listen. At least they don't go overboard on spending. I really hate it when I get something substantial that I don't need or don't really have a desire to have. The wife has done this to me more than once and did it again this yr.

The real gifts came a little early. Wife had her first follow up exam after her bout with cancer this yr. All is OK. With the economy the way it is, wanting to see my kids prospering is a BIG gift and both came through this yr. One got a promo and a raise and the other received a decent raise. I need nothing more.

My wife and I bought our Christmas present together, rather than getting each other separate gifts. It's a Grainmaker grain mill. We needed something that could keep up with our flour needs, as our old Kitchen Aid mill just wasn't up to it. We chose this particular model because of the 10 cup hopper, the heavy flywheel to help keep momentum as we crank, the huge 6" burrs, and the "Heirloom Lifetime Warranty" offered by this proudly made in USA product.

BTW, that's a gallon jar full of wheat right next to it to give an indication of the size of this beast.

Wife got me a new air powered roofing nailer (my suggestion).
Got to re-roof the house in the spring. Just did it in 2002 with 30 year shingles, but unknowingly installed crap IKO shingles. There is a huge class action law-suit against IKO for knowingly selling inferior shingles over a number of years. Some homeowners had to re-roof after just 3 years. I suppose I'm lucky I got 11
years. I hand nailed it last time in 2002. Didn't think I'd have to do it again in my lifetime, I'm now 65 and feel I can handle it again if I get some help getting the bundles up on the roof.

As there's only She Who Must be obeyed and myself we also don't give gifts. We had a great day,80'F,definately several inches to the waistline, some phone calls from friends and our daughter.Them we spent the evening on the water but the fish were somewhat uncooperative but that didn't matter.
