Collection from a legitimate business won't be a problem - it may take a while, but its not like trying to collect from a deadbeat individual. I do agreee that it may take a while to collect and it may take some paperwork, and maybe even hiring a lawyer.

However, having spent tens of thousands on equipment that doesn't work is a serious matter. Its worth doing a bit more than just complaining on the phone.

It doesn't sound like a refund is what is really wanted, though.

Maybe take the machine to a good welding shop and have your own custom bracket made - ask the dealer to pay for it in order to "make things right".

I think that's an option, however I want to be sure there's not some other problem. There may be a reason Deere doesn't make a backhoe for this unit.

Sorry to hear you're still having issues with that dealer. I never contacted them after reading your first post and went back to Boone's and bought mine. Hope things work out for you.

Why not rent a small backhoe to take care of your obligations and have the dearlership pay for it until your brackets come in? This thread is painful.

I tried that 2 months ago. They keep putting me off telling me the brackets will be here any day.
The owner doesn't return my phone call. I have never been able to speak to the owner or manager.

wow - with this, i'd have to say you are asking for whatever else happens. I'm really sorry about your troubles, but this was your chance to RUN the other way from those guys.

RVtech -- Have you checked with the JD dealer up in Centerburg? Just run up route 3 a ways and they're on the west side of the road south of town. He may be able to set you up with a backhoe from someone else, such as Landpride. I'm looking at a Landpride catalog from my local NH/massey dealer. They've told me the Landpride stuff fits most tractors and can be delivered in your tractor's color, whether it be red, blue, green, orange, or whatever.

They mount to the 3 point hitch and drawbar, come in 4 sizes to work with tractors from 12 hp up to 150 hp. If you can get set up with one of these for the refund price of the Woods unit, I think it would be wise to jump on it. Maybe your London dealer will run up and get it for you to help appease your understandable irritation.

There are also some pretty serious farm equipment dealers down route 33 towards Lancaster, or up route 23 near Delaware. What I'm suggesting is that you check into finding another backhoe, then get a refund plus whatever you can from London and be done with them. If you want, you can PM me and I'll see what the dealer here in Wooster suggests for that machine.

I was under the impression that the Centerburg dealer sold out to the new dealer in Westerville. I did check with that dealer prior to my purchase.

I was told by the service manager at my dealer that Woods had my bracket shipment on the outgoing dock Monday. I guess we'll see. He told me he would call me Friday to let me know the status unless they arrive sooner. I told him that would be ok. I just will not be talking to my salesman again.

Each post of yours I cringe. If it weren't for that customer service backround of yours, I think the "expletive's deleted" would be flowing. Hope it all works out, and, in a few years, all you will be able to remember is how well that tractor worked out. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

RV- that could easily be re the Centerburg dealer. I haven't been that way in a while. It always looked like they were doing okay, though. Sorry to lose any tractor dealer.
