<font color="blue"> thcri has brought up a very good point about the MMM. I certainly don't want to have to mow with the FEL on because even with the tighter turn radius, it would be hard to get in, out and around the trees and I sure don't want to have to fight installing and removal of the deck( Don't have the patience I us to have ). A RFM would be allright but would that detrack from the Super Steer?

I also have another concern with the Super Steer. How much trouble do you guys think it would be unloading a sided trailer with 76 inches between the sides using a 72 inch bucket on a FEL with Super Steer?

KRiley I have SuperSteer on my TC-40D and I use a RFM with no problems or complaints at all.

Now if you are going to be using a 72 inch bucket on a 76 inch opening you may have a problem there. If you make one mistake, like lining up wrong you could put your bucket through the side of the trailer. I might suggest going to a local dealer where you can test drive a rig with SuperSteer and a 72 inch bucket. Take along a couple of bricks to lay on the ground at a 76 inch spread and slowly move into the opening between the bricks with the FEL bucket. Then try to navigate away while making a steering adjustment. You may find that SuperSteer Isn't for you.

I use it to unload semi's with pallet forks on my FEL and haven't put a fork through the side of a truck yet. Course there is always tomorrow. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks for the time PineRidge.

I think I have a solution to the unloading the trailer problem.
The trailer in question is a basic utility tralier and the sides aren't but around 10" high. Think it would work if you positioned yourself with the bucket up and then lowered it, moved foward to load the bucket and then lifted up over the side rails? If this would work then the question is how much would the front wheel movement be for small adjustments to back out?

As far as the RFM .vs. MMM question, with your RFM attached and hugging around a tree with the Super Steer, how small of a uncut circle is left? Looks like to me you have to be throwing the RFM well out of the pivot point.

I love you setup, have looked with envy many times. Why did you choose the wheel weights? I can understand the bar weights but I'm not sure the gain of the wheel weights unless you need the waits for such operations as disking or heavy pulling.

How do you like your Backhoe? Do you have any problems with the Super Steer and attaching implements to the FEL?

As Always, Thinks for your time

Attaching implements to the FEL is easy with the QA option. Lift two handles and back away from a bucket and drive into a set of pallet forks and lock down both QA lock handles.

I put the backhoe to work the first week that I had it. Dug a 300' drainage ditch for my first project. It's a workhorse and once I got used to attaching/disconnecting it from the tractor I liked it even better.

There has been a lot said here at the TBN site about weight vs liquid ballast filled tires. I prefer the wheel weights & 3-point weigh bracket to keep the back end planted when I am using the pallet forks or for FEL work. When I need to get on the turf I drop the wheel weights and the 3-point weight bracket. Another advantage is that I run Multi-Seal in the tires to prevent flats as we still have more than a few thorn trees on our property that used to give me grief.

You are correct the RFM doesn't track like a MMM but then again I wouldn't cherish the thought of hassling with putting a MMM on a taking it off all the time. MMMs also interfere with the backhoe sub frame so I settled for the RFM. I am looking at a wider one however.

I still think that you ought to judge a Super-Steer for yourself before you make your purchase. As I said earlier it just might not be for you. If it turns out that you like it after a demo then go for it.

Thanks for the complements on my rig. My wife actually put the bug in my ear to buy it. I wouldn't trade her or the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
