What does your workshop look like?

I love seeing all the pictures of the plastic 4-5 gallon containers. I use them all the time to prep for a project. In a pinch you can turn them over for a step ladder too.

LOL LOL we have four cats, and over the last ten years I have stocked up about 240 of those yellow rectangular cat litter pails...I actually prefer them over the round white ones that joint compound comes in, the handles on the litter pails are more comfortable, they seem to be less prone to sticking together when you stack them, and they are actually more durable. Best storage containers you can have. The 35 pound litter pails actually DO hold 5 gallons....I have measured them. Never save the tops for them, though.

My business is built around the 5 gallon pail. I don't know what I would do with out them, seriously.

Here is mine. Gets out of hand in the summer months when Im trying to get projects done. But all and all I try to keep it clean and organized. 30'x40' at 10'walls

Here are my happy places

Looking towards the "wifes" side of the garage (I say her side cause that is the side the car gets parked in). She also has her own 'workshop'/shed too. She does crafts, upolstry, and small woodworking projects sorry no pics of that.

However this is the shop I grew up in (my dad's) and I miss having some key tools once in a while. Mostly the lifts.

I clean in cycles - three buildings. When I start to trip or can't find stuff I clean and organize
then start over. Not the best system but it works for me and I have tried changing but would need another building to be able to sort and discard before I organize... I am known to collect stuff!

Always messy. Right now one bay has the 1951 Minneapolis Moline BF tractor that's been under restoration for 3 years and counting. BF parts are all over the shop. The other bay has the 1964 MF135 diesel that needs oil seals (pan and pto shaft). There are parts from the 1948 Farmall Cub (working on low compression problem). And there are parts from a drop seeder project I'm working on now. I try to sweep the floor each Sunday (if and when I can see the floor for all the stuff scattered around):laughing:.

I have more than enough unfinished projects that keep my shop way to cluttered and full. We sold an old snowmobile this last Sunday, felt really good. I did not have to time to get it running and the guy that bought it was drooling over it... nice to get the space back.. and not seeing another unfinished project every time I opened the door to that shed.. I need to get some stuff gone and just focus on a few projects..

My shop is clean but my storage building...imagine an episode of hoarders but everything was parts and small engine related.

My 40 b 50 is usuall crammed full in te summer. Cant see the floor lol. I have trouble staying in there in the summer due to work and farming I just go in there work to fix what I need then go home. I nthe fall like now and winter ill keep it pretty clean as I can stay out there longer with little interuption.

I clean for a new project if I don't have enough room on the to of the old one.

For storage I took over a stable in the barn - used to be sheep there - and it is filing fast.
