I would think a pallet would work great for a platform. Of course, then it might not go under this topic.

Not a great pic but this rock was big enough that my skid steer couldn't pick it up and I can lift around 1500lbs.

There was about a 2 foot diameter circle of this rock showing above the soil and with the forks I was able to get it out of the ground and then get eoungh lift on it to slide it over to the rock pile. My wife snapped this pic.

My forks get used for just about anything. Moving trees, brush, moving plastic totes, obviously pallets transplanting trees lol, (cause seriously who can afford to hire a tree spade?)

Made a gin pole that sits on the forks, with a brace that hooks over the top of the frame.
