Sometimes your are forced to such as when there's no untaxed available .

The ULSD has lubricant added. Maybe not so with your fuel oil.

There is no ULSD and Fuel Oil.
That's all in the past.
Now all we have is ULSD which is the same everywhere no mattet what it may be called.

In CT home heating oil is generally high sulfur. ULS home heating oil/off road diesel is available by special order. According to the CT DEP, home heating oil in CT will go low sulfur when the other New England states adopt low sulfur heating oil.

The original poster is asking about pros and cons. Those really depend n if the injectors can hands the low sulphur or ultra low as it calls for. I wouldn't run low sulphur as I wouldn't trust that the injectors could handle it. Run the ultra low and a good fuel additive, safest bet.

In Indiana road fuel (Ultra Low Sufur) and farm fuel (what was Low Sulfur) has all become one in the same (Ultra Low Sulfur). The only difference is the purple dye in the farm fuel because this fuel we do not pay taxes on. You mean to tell me this is not the same all over the country??? I thought by now, 2012, all diesel fuel is Ultra Low Sulfur per government regulations. My brand new 2012 CUT tractor says to use either Low Sulfur or Ultra Low Sulfur. I was under the assumption either would work and that the injectors could handle either???

I get my diesel at the same place where I fill up my truck. I usually fill two 5 gallon cans at a time. The tank on my Kunota l4400 holds 11.3 gallons. I also use Power Service which I buy at TSC.

I use Red Diesel, I called them and asked what type of diesel they used, They said what ever Esso gives them, ULSD/LSD I heard they put 5% of BioDiesel in the LSD mixture. I pay about $1.10/Litre delivered and taxed a tiny bit. White Diesel over here is around $1.45/Litre. Its more than 87 Octane :confused2:. If you guys are complaining about gas prices, Don't. Think about my prices and smile, :laughing: I run Red/OffRoad diesel on all my diesel vehicles, Tractors/Trucks. I never gotten pulled over for a tank check.

I've driven by fuel tax spot checks in my Class 8. They wave me through, never checking me. They're waiting for someone like you.

When you say you are using Power Service, which specific Power Service product are you using?

I see Diesel Kleen + Cetane Boost, Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane Boose and Diesel 9-1-1.

I use Power Service Agri Power + Cetane boost with Slick diesel lubricant. When I bought my tractor, I asked the mechanic at my dealership and he recommended this. He told me about TSC. My mechanic told me that any Power Service additive with Slick diesel lubricant would work.
