Same in Texas. State fairs have turned into entertainment, amusement rides, and selling infomercial materials. Everything is a static display. When there was not a tractor dealership in every town farm people went to the fair to shop. Now you go to the dealer to test drive and fill out the loan paperwork. Not many people go to the animal shows, mostly just the competitors and their families.

As I've done most years since 2006 . . I've gone to the MN State Fair in Minneapolis this just passed weekend.

I saw the Simplicity version of a 27 hp gas engine scut. I saw all the normal Kubota BX product plus the new B2300 and B2600 series product.

But I didn't see Yanmar there or Massey/Case or Kioti or Mahindra.

Haven't been to the MN State Fair in years ... we had free tickets to go this year but passed. Machinery Hill was my favorite part of the fair and the first couple of times I went there it didn't lack for much- tractors from big to small, many brands, antique tractors, trucks, trailers, accessories ... you name it. The last time I went Machinery Hill was a shadow of its former self. I'll go again but the "Great Minnesota Get-Together" has become more urban and less rural and doesn't have the attraction for me that it once did. Massey and some of the others have moved on to dedicated farm shows and their more targeted audience - a big loss for the State Fair imho.
