Ernie, same here, ran it twice and had no problems. Interesting. With and without mute.

Gatorboy:

Read your previous post on the virus so when I got to the site I did not open the attachment.

Thanks for the warning.

Murph

ps: I did not get a virus when playing the clip. But I did kind of roll my eyes when I saw the music credits at the end.

I got that email a few months back. I almost puked. I don't want to get into politics here. I'm born and raised in KS. Ya'll can guess where my views lie. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

p.s.>> I have seen better photo shop work elsewhere

Murph, I have to point people to Snopes all the time (especially my mother in law). I would advise folks like Tractor Ernie to always check there before sending on what more often then not is propoganda. There is tons of it on the internet, don't get sucked in so easily folks, Snopes it first!

I am not saying the video is accurate....but I will say that I do not believe Snopes is the ultimate authority on such things either.

The study of history helps one understand that the management and dissemination of information (accurate or otherwise) is an incredible source of power. Snopes---and others--all still rely on sources. I'm always as interested in what is NOT said, or known, as what is said. In many things I believe a good picture can be drawn from the information that is withheld.

After you read and think about some of these compsiracy theorys, you have to laugh. Most or silly on the face of them, or just desperate to force a point of view without any proof, but with the intent of making somebody or group look bad.

My favorite is the Kennedy assasination. The claim that hitting him in the head in a moving vehicle was too dificult a shot to have been accomplished.

They did a story about that on Discovery that replicated all the distances, speeds and heights. They even used the same type of rifle and a watermellon for the target. The shooter had never fired that model of firearm before, but was an expert shot. He hit it every time with ease well under the time limit. In fact, he had to slow down to follow the time line it was such an easy shot!!!

I guess you have to ask yourself if there is an "ultimate authority" and what source you may find personally to be more accurate in the "facts" it presents. I will choose Snopes as a source even though they "still rely on sources" as very rarely is there any other way to get the story short of being there ourselves. They site the source and attempt to explain where a story is false but still leave it up to the reader to determine the accuracy. Try a few Snopes stories on stuff like the Tsunami wave, plastic in the microwave, I think you may find they deserve some merit to their conclusion.
