Wow,

About two weeks ago I ordered all of the filters for my tractor to change out this fall. Tonight I am set out to change all of them. Lay them all out and notice the new oil filter is about 25% less in size than the old one on the tractor. Is this right, without taking the old one off I don't even think this one will match up to the face plate. New number is New Holland 87415600, can anyone verifty this for me before I take the old one off.

Also what would be really neat is if someone had a list of all the grease zirks on the class ll New Hollands.

The book pretty much stinks as far as replacing the air filters and lining them up with the tabs on the bottom. The tabs don't seem to be able to line up with the slots on the filters????

Murph the new number caught me off guard as well. I can assure you that it did fit my TC-40D SS when I changed it. And yes it was shorter but yet a bit larger in diameter. I noticed that my oil wrench no longer fit the end of the filter.

I bought a assortment of SAE and an assortment of metric zerk fittings at Harbor Freight for less than 5 bucks per set. Both of these assortments will cover all of your needs on your tractor, FEL, and backhoe if you have one.

Not only is is shorter but smaller in diameter. Now the old one was larger than the cam, should I call it and the new one is about the same size in diameter as the cam. I put it on. Will call the dealer on Monday as they missed one of the filters I asked for.

I ran into the same thing too. I called my dealer and he told me they changed the filter size, but it will fit just fine. He was right.

And that is exactly what I bought. It is tough getting any other type of wrench in there. So I got me one of them universal ones that you can spin around, slide in another do-hicky and you can adapt to six different sizes. Yep that is 6, I said six different sizes?? Big deal but I got it anyway from Wally World.

OK I just learned something here. I now have 3 different oil filter wrenches like the picture that I posted earlier and now none of them fit the new oil filter. You say Wally World sells one that fits 6 different size filters and you can still get on the oil filter behind the FEL mount?

I need to make a road trip back to Wally World I guess.

It does work on the large orange one behind the FEL mount. This is the hydraulic filter. It does work on the new smaller oil filter. It does not seem to work on the Hydro filter though. Which the hydro is out there where you can get at it pretty easy.

Attached is the back of the filter wrench. I will scan the front also next.

I still wished they would put the old 9/16" nut on the bottom of the filter. I have not seen one of them in a long time.
