What happened to the time?

Written at about 0923 CST
I recently started noticing the time seemed 2 hours off.
So I go to my home/settings/time zone and it was set to Caracas! I KNOW I didn't do that. But that's 4.5 hours off GMT.
So I change it to where I'm sitting, and what my computer is set at - CST.
I come back and now it seems it's still an hour off.
My clock shows 9:28 the post time shows up as 10:28.

I think the current time as it displays on TBN has always been a little buggy. I have had it go back (or forward) by an hour several times. When I check my timezone setting in my profile, it would show Central Time - U.S. which is correct. If I were to change the setting to Eastern or Mountain, I would then get my correct time but after some time it would be off by an hour in the other direction.

I did notice that when Daylight Saving Time ended earlier this month, my TBN time-of-day corrected itself and has remained correct since.

The timestamps also seem kind of buggy. Just read a msg that was supposedly posted at 9:10 am today, but it's not even 8:30 yet, local time. Are posting times supposed to be local to the reader or based on the location of the author or some other time zone?

Should be local to the reader.

All timestamps displayed on the forums can be automatically corrected to show the correct time for your location in the world.
