</font><font color="blue" class="small">( After much consideration, I decided that I needed to comment on the BEST vehicle(s) I've owned too.

The 2 Chevy's hold the title of worst.

#1, #2, and #3 BEST were a (1)2000 Toyota Tundra 4WD, (2) 1984 Toyota 4WD SR5, and (3) a 1988 Toyota 4WD SR5 pick-up.

Notice a trend there?

WHEN Toyota decides to release a 3/4 ton/1 ton heavy duty truck, guess who'll be at the head of the line to buy one?

If by best, you mean the most trouble free and dependable, then I guess our '93 Ford Escort station wagon would be first, although it would be toss up between that and the '82 Isuzu Imark diesel sedan.

I've had 2 Tundra's, and 03 and an 05, no problems with either - either /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've owned

73 Pontiac LeMans (Bought used)
'78 Pontiac LeMans (Bought used)
'83 Buick Century
'86 Pontiac Grand Am SE
'92 Mitsubishi Montero (Bought Used)
'95 Dodge Ram
2003 Honda Element (Current)
2003 Chevy Silverado 4X4 (Current)

I have had astonishing luck with them all. The Montero is the only one to leave me sitting with a broken belt pully bolt but it went 132K miles before I gifted it to a Nephew.

The only one to have problems right out of the box was the Honda with a MISSING gasket on the radiator.

The Montero would have to be my favorite. The 86 Grand Am SE was the most fun to drive.

The Dodge Ram had the paint fall off on the roof after the warenty ran out.

But I liked them all and had few problems with them.

Worst car I ever owned was a 2003 VW Passat Wagon. The car had even more problems than the 2000 VW Diesel Beetle that I traded in. And the worst part is Volkswagen of America. They simply will not stand behind their product. If you offered me a free VW I would not take it.

1975 Honda Civic Station wagon

I say that, because its the only car I ever owned that blew an engine. Got that rebuilt and it blew another one.

It was only 3 years old at the time.

Honda has come a long ways since that pile of crap.

A 1960 Rambler Ambassador! The carrier bearings on the tail end of the trannsmission would not hold up. This marvel of engineering had an enclosed drive shaft. You had to block it up, unbolt the rear end, unbolt the drive shaft housing and roll the rear end back. Then you could finally drop the drive shaft. A five dollar bearing, then reverse the procedure. After three times I sold it for junk.

I really like the Toyotas too. My beef with them is that for a very light duty truck, I expect better fuel economy. It's just not there. Even the Tacoma V6 4WD is pretty pathetic. Mid teens and low 20's max on MPG. I like the Tundra, but it too is a very light duty vehicle regardless of what the ad says. 1/2 yard of gravel and its dragging. Maybe I should just get a dump trialer and pull it instead.
