My new tractor, not much so far... I'm older, more experienced, and it's mine to pay for repairs. Dad's tractor as a kid? Now that's a much longer list... grader blade main pivot pin (2"solid steel) comes to mind, as well as pulling off the bucket loader front mount brackets, that also cost him a clutch in his '71 chevy truck, due to a snow stuck. I woulda cost dad alot less if I didn't learn so much breaking his stuff.

I wadded up the loader level indicator rod after the tube became unscrewed and loose in the first 10 hours. I straightened it out and used locktite on the tube threads. BUT several trees in the area are really sorry they didn't move when a turning FEL bucket came too close.:) I have been pretty lucky so far.
I took that stupid thing off. It was worthless.

Knocked a large hole in the front wire mesh grill on my new Kubta about a month later. I am waiting until I finish doing some more clean up before getting a new one. I got a piece of expanded mesh to make a brush guard, just haven't done it yet. :ashamed:

Don't feel bad. Anyone who has a tractor with no dents doesn't have enough hours on it. If anyone has a pickup with no dents they aren't using it right.

If I put a dent in my tractor I'd fix it, if I put a dent in my truck I fix it.

I got a fence post last week. Even managed to poke a hole in the house with a set of forks once LOL.

I'd be fixing a lot of dents on the truck. If you are not putting dents in a truck you should have bought a SUV.

When I bought my first Kubota a few years ago, I built a lean-to off the back of my shed to store it under. Had enough room to drive under if I was next to the shed, but on the low end of the roof, the ROPS would have been too tall. No problem I figured, I'll always remember to park on the tall end. Wasn't a couple weeks before I forgot and nearly tore the lean-to off the shed. I hung long orange ribbons off the end rafter after that, so I'd at least get hit in the face before the ROPS could do any damage. Sometimes I need a smack in the face to keep from doing something stupid.

I backed into my garage and left a nice dent in the aluminum trim. Reminds me to watch what I am doing every time I see it! My father in law ripped open the side of his F350 when he was backing up and not watching the front bucket.

I unpinned rop and tilted it back and parked in garage to do some work on bucket. Had bush hog on and lowered it for safety with kids around. Backing out of garage I raised mower and ropes bent the top link to the 3 pt hitch. Bent it beyond useability or repair. Did not phase the ropes except ding in paint.

Mowing the yard backed the hitch into the Vinyl on the side of my house.

Funny! I've been saying that for years but I swapped SUV for station wagon. Every time I say it, someone gets their feathers ruffled. :p

Sorry but I don't agree with the if you not smashing it you are not using crap.
My work truck has 900,000 miles. Up on the deck I carry off road fuel, tools, 2 asphalt mills, power broom, pallet forks.
Moves equipment every day. Everything on the decks gets used every day.
My trucks not dented up. If something gets bent/broken/dented I fix it.
I've put 2000 hours on my skid steer in 3 years, its not bent up/dented up and it gets used hard. If something gets damaged I fix it.
I had some damage to the back of the skid steer this year. I replaced the lights and panel that got broke and repainted the back. Looks like new again. Its called caring about your equipment and maintainance.

Plowing snow one day I was pushing and dumping snow up over a steel t post that I had as a marker in a bank near a ditch. It was half buried and as I lowered the bucket it came down so that the hydraulic piping made contact with the top of the t post. The piping bent but I stopped just in time before I punctured or destroyed the tubing. Every time I use the tractor I see it and have a reminder to be careful!

Also poked a hole in siding with forks on.

The bed of my truck looks like a grenade went off in it. The body is in pretty good shape. There are a few dents mostly caused be loading firewood. I only fix stuff that affects the function of the truck. I plan on driving it until it falls apart. Why would I spend money on something that doesn't increase the value or do anything else? You have a real truck with a real bed. I can load stuff on the Chevy 3500 dump without hurting anything. Loading anything in a regular truck bed results in damage. Sometimes I bump into the 3500 with the tractor brush guard while loading. They share a little paint, but no harm done. Try bumping a regular truck bed with a tractor. It would collapse the whole bed side.

I agree. When I do something that destroys or makes worse something I own, I can't stand it because mostly it has been done with a touch of my own negligence. I have to fix it for two primary reasons:1. I like things that look nice. 2. To fix stuff usually takes a while to do it right so it's a form of self retribution which is better than self flagellation that I really feel like doing.

I've caught a couple of extension cords with the teeth on my bucket. Does that count?
