I have the C42...it's a beefy machine..I really liked Kioti also. My Zetor dealer was willing to play ball better ($$) and was not a mom and pop shop, been there for years, not going away to soon either. Its the service after the sale the makes a good purchase or a lousy one.

My $.02

( The JD tractors are not made there! The 5400 series is in Georgia. The 6400 series is made in Germany. )

So you are saying that they are lying? If so why hasn't JD legal dept. been all over them?

From what I know yes I would say that is not the truth. They may distribute those tractors there but they do not build them. Those are also five year old models. Why would Deere have them build five year old models? The 10 series in the 5000 and 6000 series was discontinued.

Its very possible that they may have sold/moved the tooling. Tractors in other countries are radicly different than they are in the US.

I assure you Kukje does build JD tractors. They are built for distribution over there. JD also builds tractors in China but again none of them come to the states.

I was at a fair yesterday and I got a chance to look at the Zetor, Century, and a couple of the other... rebadged, Chinese tractors. Overall I guess they weren't bad, but I was surprised to see rust starting around so many areas. The thing that really struck me was how poorly formed the metal was on the hood of some of them. A Century in particular had so many waves going down the side of the hood it was like looking in a funhouse mirror. I certainly can't comment on how they run as a whole, but based on appearances I'd be less than impressed if I was looking to buy one. You also mentioned Kioti as one of the brands you were less than impressed by... In my experience they are a lot better looking than the examples of Chinese brands I saw this weekend.

Never heard of a Chinese Century Tractor. The Century by Zetors I looked at all had excellent fit and finish..

At the Woodstock fair there was a Century/Zetor set up and around the corner was a Chinese Jinma rebadged set up. Next to this was Freemans with a Cub set up which was really a repainted DK45 Kioti.. Last year there were at least five different dealers set up including NH and Kubota, None of the big three were showing this year,,

(No Big 3) I noticed that as well - I thought that I missed their display somewhere. Actually I was pleased to see the other brands together since I've never had a chance to look them over before. Did I get the country of origin wrong on the Century? I thought it was a product of China that is assembled here.

You're a little off on country of origin. Century/Zetor and Branson are both Korean built. The differences between them are the importer and a more heavy duty loader available on the large frame Century/Zetors.
