What's the best implement to use after a heavy offset disc (24" discs) to prepare for seedbed? Thanks.

A great deal has to do with what you're planning on seeding into the ground, what type of soil you have, and what you have as far as a tractor.

ie forage grass (pasture/hayfield), lawn, cereal grain crop, corn, deer food plot, ect....

sandy loam, gumbo clay, rocks, roots, ect.....

small (compact), larger "AG tractor", ect.


A few more specifics and you'll stand a better chance of getting ACCURATE and specific answers.

OK! I'd think a nice tandem disc (10' to 14' with that power) would do a decent job. Some will say a tiller. Depending on what you're planting, a cultipacker before (or after) seeding might be of some benefit also.

I agree with Farmwithjunk. Lighter weight disc (12-14') or tiller. Tiller will take much longer but will leave a near perfect seed bed. How many acres do you have? Ideally, let a few rains work down the soil after the heavy discing has been done.
Our local pheasants forever has a drill that can be rented. It is really fairly cheap to rent and heavy duty. It is about 10-12 wide and has rollers on the back.

I would be real careful with that depending on soil type and other weather conditions.
