I love looking at farm implements and I think I have seen most kinds and understand their use, but for the life of me I don't know what a cultimulcher is used for?

I would love to have an encyclopedia of ag and industrial implements with photos, uses etc.

A cultimulcher is a machine that has rollers both front and rear and teeth in the center. The front roller breaks up the clumps on the top. the teeth dig up to 6" in the ground for more and the rear roller breaks those clumps. This gives a farmer a tool to give good soil to seed contact and no clumps so any sprays will also get a even application.

Art,

Thanks for the reply. I thought it had something to do with seeding/planting, but I didn't think a cultimulcher actually planted anything. Thanks for the information.

So when do we get started on the big book of implements????

The list of machinery is forever getting larger. Today they do build machinery that will till, plant grain as well as corn with one pass over the field. Efficency is the driving force in this area. I could go on for a lengthy piece on whats out there and what I know is coming shortly to a farmer near you!
