What is a good box blade that is reasonable?

I think all their equipment is made in china cheap but doesnt help the trade balance

The one in the link doesn't look like it has scarifiers on it. I have a Rankin boxblade and am pleased with it. It is made well and was not as expensive as some of the other big name brands

I have an A.T.L.A.S. that was made in mississippi. i think they also make a line called frontier. i see them for sell at alot of places around here.
I have really worked the thing and i would testify that they are well built box blades.

It does. I have one of the Homier box blades and am very happy with it- but it gets very intermittent use. The scarifiers adjust easily.

Many of their products are cheap junk, but I feel I have already seen my money's worth in the 249 dollars I paid for it two years ago.

So there are scarifers inside the box because you cant see them from the picture.

Some of these come with a sleeve hitch as against the 3 point hitch. do you think this reduces your ability to grade accurately

I also have a Homier, looks just like some of the other brands. I picked mine up at a Homier tent sale for $200

Yes- if you look closely at AndyM's post/attachment, you will see the tops of them sticking up. There are several height adjustments- just pull a pin on each and adjust.
I also agree with his observations on much of the Homier merchandise- I would not buy a mower or tiller from them, but this is just dead iron and if it works, it works- and it does!!!

I use my box scraper a lot and probably more than I thought I would. Personally I would spend the extra money and get a better box scraper as they tend to take a beating.

If you can swing top n tilt its a worthwhile investment.

I got a Gearmore and have been very happy with it.

I have been very impressed with frontier. Its not the cheapest, but well made and cuts well.

I have the Frontier / which is what Deere sells as 'their' box blade... at least around my parts.

I have the HD version... It is heavy built and very sturdy. I like it very much. I think it was around 900 bucks.. but for the heavy - last forever - version of an 84" blade - I am happy with it....

Soarkrebel Im friends withDarrell Harp one of the owners of Atlas Boxblades. Made a few towns over in Tremont MS We have a 5 one he threw in with out 3000 Yanmar that I like alot better thant the 7foot King Cutter/king crapper at work. The hitch is a sollic mount no flat stock thats bolted together to bend like the King kutter. It cuts good and is fairly heavy built. Our king cutter goes on a 4000 Ford and hasnt been used in rough conditions and the arms ar all warped and bent. Before this we had a 6foot Atlas but dad had traded to get one as wide as the tractor it was on. He traded for the KK and its been a good blade just lighterandmore expensive.

taylortractornut i have no complaints with my atlas it is one tough tool!
As a matter of fact i was working last summer with the scarifiers down and tilted. i caught a root or something and it stopped the tractor . it almost threw me over the hood.

the lift pin bent but the box blade wasnt even hurt other then the scarifier was bent just a little.
i was surprised! i wouldnt hesitate to buy another!

If i remember right i think it was around $300 dollars.

Hey you wouldnt happen to know if they have a website yet?

Or how i might find other products they make?

Okay I will 3rd the recommendation for the A.T.L.A.S. brand. I have a 6' heavy duty model and have abused the snot out of it and yet to bend it. I have used it a lot to dig up buried boulders by hooking one of the scarifers on the rock and lifting the 3 pt while moving forward is usually enough to break them loose to be able to let the front loader get them. More than once I have caught something that has brought my 48 HP tractor to a dead stop and not bent the boxblade. (thank god for seatbelts.) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
