If you don't mind having little kids around, would you consider opening a daycare in your home? There is good money in it, but the down side is the load on your septic system, and dealing with all the colds and illnesses they will be bringing in the home. Check what state and local authorities require to see if it is too much of a hassle to meet requlations before getting too involved. Can also be a daytime in-home care giver for an older person, or handicapped person.
If she is just looking for something to do and money is not a major concern, she might be interested in volunteering her time at a hospital, or nursing home, or library.
