Good post!

That's a good contrast to what Larry wrote. It's what we need more of, IMHO. If everyone describes the way they use or plan to use their tractors and how well they work in that application, all of us shoppers will benefit.

I hadn't thought about the extra width too much since I have narrow places, too. I can adjust the way I stack my wood to compensate for that, though.

On Deeres, is there any simple way to adjust the rear width? With my Kubota, you just jack up the rear, loosen the nut, pull the bolt out, and slide the wheel along the hexagonal axle to the setting you want. I have it set as wide as it will go. I know my old 8N had 2 piece wheels that you could set differently, but that was not a simple operation compared to the 'bota.

Unless they have made some changes since I bought my tractor back in July, the Deere was not adjustable. The width depended on which tire package that you went with. They may offer two piece wheels as an aftermarket but they did not when I was shopping.
