I know that I had rodents above ground and I pretty much took care of them, but now I come to dig my carrots and find they have turned to mush up inside. Looks like bugs got in and had a feast killing them so they rotted. Some of my potatoes also have areas where they were "chewed on" almost like a mouse had done it. I found one potato actively inhabited by a slug and some other creepy crawly grey bug with numerous legs. I used to call these bugs termites, but that's not correct. Any ideas? My entire carrot crop has been pretty much wiped out...

When I had a garden I found sometimes moles would get into the Hubbard squash and carrots.

I'm thinking the bugs as I don't see any voids or burros when digging. Wil look into wire worms etc.
