What is Fast dump?

Still making sure all is right on my 430 FEL. Everything seems to be pretty much there. I am not sure how fast dump is supposed to work, though. Is it supposed to be a fast roll forward, or is it supposed to be be a thump at the end of the dump, and roll back quickly (that's how its acting, now...)

The manual says push lever for fast dump.

I assume you have the hoses connected right? Ie when you push the lever it does what the little graphic says it's supposed to. Usually all the way forward for "float", a litte forward for down, back for up, left for curl, right for slow dump, way right for fast dump.

All work as described except the fast roll forward, it is a fast roll back. I keep working it to get the air out, but the fast dump seems weird... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If I recall, the manual says that the fast dump position only works when the bucket is heavily loaded. It also says that it applies pressure to both lines - as opposed to the "float" position that apparently lets the oil cycle freely. If this is true, and you have unequal pressure in one of the lines, I'd say it's bound to push the bucket one way or the other. You might still have some air in one side that is making it act strangely.

thanks, that is what I now suspect, some air, and I was trying with an empty bucket. I'll go fill 'er up! I was trying to work everything without a load to make sure it was OK before stressing it...
