I'm going to guess your a horse person. Depending on the condition of that tractor you may be better off selling it than trying to get it running. Before you replace tires make sure you can get it running and that the hydraulics work. Then by all means if it needs tires consider replacing them.

This thing is 6000lbs+ and 65hp at the PTO. 3500lb 3pt lift capacity if the hydraulics work. It should push an 8ft bush hog no problem or even larger if you wanted to.

If it runs and the hydraulics work, this could be your big boy tractor and then you could get a modern compact utility tractor with loader do do everything else around the property.

My elderly neighbor of 20 years gave me this tractor last year that my dad and brother were supposed to fix up for me.

I'm doing my best to learn how to fix, build and maintain stuff on my own, but I haven't got to the major engine stuff yet beyond checking oil, replacing filters etc... honestly, I really don't have the time to restore a tractor and I'll grow old waiting on a man to do it ;oP I also really need the money...

So...What is it? What is it worth as is? Is there small, cheap and easy fixes that I could do in a day or 2 that would significantly increase the value? I believe it's diesel that used to run on butane.. I was told they got it running a couple years ago but that is all I know.

I had a John deer 5055d that I had to trade in on another skidsteer when my ex husband got to sell ours. I used the skid more and my neighbor has let me use his good one.. but I'd like to get another tractor eventually to mow my big pastures and the occasional box blading...Is it really worth keeping? Would it be cheaper in the long run?

It is going to take a lot of coin to replace that with a new machine. I would bribe the brother and father with a good meal and some beer to get it fired up and a clear list of anything that it might need before entertaining what to do with it otherwise.

I have some old stuff that everyone else thinks is junk but fact is a fresh battery here and there and they just keep on working without complaint. A little quirky steering or a hard lever to move or shift is absolutely nothing when compared to the cost of a newer replacement that will when it gets as old not be cost effective to repair.

Welcome to TBN - I see that the muffler is detached & lying near the floorboard. If the rest of the exhaust pipe wasn't covered, I'd be concerned that rainwater may have got into the cylinders after it's having set, uncovered & unused, for a spell. If there is water in the cylinders, then there's a risk of hydro-locking the engine when someone tries to start it, which could damage the engine. Highly recommend having someone who knows their way around a diesel just check that it's not a problem before anyone turns the key. Good luck, and let us know how things go!

A little bigger than mine but I've had the old girl for over twenty years now and other than a change of clutch which I did myself, it's been a dependable tractor.
Over 5,500 hrs on it now. Good strong English tractor.
