They will be going up here in another month. Election year always brings the prices down.

The funny thing is that, despite being the most famous of our many local chocolatiers, it's probably the worst among them. Hershey became big by finding a cheaper way to make chocolate, namely taking old spoiled milk back from dairies, and then adding so damn much sugar to it, to tip the sour/sweet scale. It has a unique sour aftertaste that many have come to love, no other chocolate is quite like it there, but give it to any Swiss or German and they almost immediately spit it out!

Another local company, Ashers Chocolates, makes world-class dark chocolate that I'd put up against even Lindt from Switzerland. But they've never gone national, as far as I know, they only sell regionally.

I grew up on Hershey, so I still appreciate it, especially breaking off half of their traditional 16-square bar to make S'mores.

Ashers is fantastic, haven't eaten Hersheys in many decades.

My latest is the dome lights in vehicles which automatically shut off. I turned it on because I wanted the damned thing on! If I forget to shut it off that's my problem.

They likely have changed over time but the relays used to drain the battery almost as much as the light; except you couldn't see that you had left it on. Then it would come back on at 3:00 in the morning, you'd look out and think somebody was in your truck.

I see your point but I've got a habit of forgetting I turned it on so in my case that is a good idea. One thing I don't get is the manufacturers list the dome light working like "theater lighting" it comes on gradually and goes off gradually, why? Who the he77 gives a rats backside how fast or slow the dome light comes on or off.

They could give us the carburetor that yields 300 mpg, but no, they have to work on the dome lights. I think the bed light on my truck comes on and auto off too when you open the door. BS

I know mine ('19 Ram) comes on when you open the tailgate, never thought to check if the doors turn it on.

The number of times I accidentally left a dome light on overnight could be counted on one hand, in 30+ years of life before kids. But now, it's several times per month that I walk out to the garage and find at least one car door or trunk left open, because one of the kids was hunting for a lost phone, book, or eye glasses case. So, I really appreciate the auto-off feature on my interior lighting.

If I had any pet peeve regarding vehicular lighting, it would be the A-holes who sit in parking lots with the lights on, or even high-beams. Yeah, we're all waiting for our kid to come out of Karate or dance, but I don't need your high beams in my face for the 10 minutes we're all sitting there. I always switch mine down to parking lights only, and a few get the hint, but so many are oblivious.

My refrigerator interior lights do that gradual thing.
