Speaking of computers..
Pet peeve…typing my username and password, and it all gets wiped out because of caps on( my fault).

It all gets wiped out to empty username and password boxes, if I get a single character wrong. No possibility of redemption by fixing just the single wrong character.

I haven't seen any such thing when I've visited Youtube. Are you using a cellphone or a real computer? Might make a difference
I've seen it, dependent on content. Some things on there can be a bit graphic or nasty.
I have noticed that lately Facebook is requiring you to log in to view any pages. A lot of organizations use it instead of having a dedicated website. Typically you have less than 20 seconds before a sign-in popup appears (that you can't click away). I don't, nor do I have any interest in joining FB
I'm finding the same thing. On a couple of occasions I've asked somebody to look something up for me. I had an account at one time but left about 10 years ago when they really started getting into data mining.

I looked older as a kid. It was a thrill to get away buying booze at 15 the 1st time.
Now at many times 15 I'm being carded for nonsense?
This world is spiraling into a pit of stupidity at an ever accelerating rate.
I blame it on lawyers.
We wouldn't need as many lawyers if there weren't so many stupid and dishonest people.

Today's peeve; "FREE" phone lookup. Except when they allegedly find the number, they hide it and ask for money.

I'm going to show that I'm an old faht and remember not so long ago that phone companies argued they should stop issuing phone books because "everybody uses the internet."

Well, as more people transition to cellphones, the phone book becomes more and more useless. Even many small businesses go that route today. I've seen ads for Spectrum business internet where a "free" cell account is included in the price.
Not sure why cell #s aren't included in phonebooks.

I suspect the first carrier to implement that would quickly lose enough customers to convince their competitors to never even try such a move. But aside from that, who paid for the data collection, printing, and distribution? That's an expensive effort to consolidate on any carrier not benefitting directly from publishing those customer's numbers.

In the old days, wasn't it the local carrier who published the phone books?

And the phone books were paid for by advertisers and the commercial listing sections.

Before phone books each city had a directory which included advertising...

I have a few old directories from the 1920's and they were a wealth of information at your fingertips...

That was the argument for phasing them out. Yet now you have to pay for information which may or may not be accurate... As I found out the hard way.

I paid a lot for my business ads over the years. I closed/retired 12 years ago and my business is still listed with the number, even a small ad in yellow pages. Of course I pay nothing.
My 97 yo Mom subscribed to the newspaper recently. $800 /yr. and it amounts to nothing.
She has dementia but enjoys it.

Yep $80 a month for the newspaper but mom with fading memory looked forward each morning to looking at the paper…. It runs to the end of 2024…

I should cancel but I’m sentimental I guess…

Engineer brain activated, but if she has failing memory, couldn't you just give her the same paper every day? T'would save some coin.

Never thought of trying it…

She did use the newspaper to set her day as she focused on day of the week and date in the header…

There's an old joke most here have probably already heard, but it's a good one. From memory:

A doctor, a priest, and an engineer are out golfing together. They come up behind a foursome who is moving way too slow, just hacking at the turf and sending their balls all over. But they don't want to be rude, so they just patiently play behind this group for a few holes.

Eventually, a groundskeeper drives by, and they wave him down. One of them asks, "what's up with this group in front of us? They're all over the place, just hacking at their balls, and they're really holding us up."

The groundkeeper responds, "well, they're actually all blind. But they've been playing here forever, and no one has the heart to tell them they can't use the course."

The doctor says, "that's just terrible. I'm going to speak with some of my colleagues in the Opthamology department, and see if there's anything we can do to help them."

The priest nods and says, "bless you, doctor. And I'm going to ask my congregation to pray for them. God willing, maybe something can be done to help them."

The engineer is just quietly shaking his head, but eventually pipes up, "why the hell can't they just play at night?!?"

Leave it to the engineer to be logical. :ROFLMAO:

Peeve. Delivery drivers that go where they please. Just had a ten wheeler from a building supplier turn around over my septic field. Not one minute before I had told him how to exit and to always be thoughtful of people’s septic systems.

Several months ago it was a concrete truck. I asked he not empty the remnants of the load on my property. So he goes and dumps it on the shoulder of the county road at my gate. 😡

The concrete one was on you. You have to give them a spot to wash out. If you don’t want a mess you can give them a kiddy pool to wash out in.

People deliberately messing with you in traffic.
I'm taking wife to doctor an hour ago. All is well and a bit of road construction. No workers, just 10 orange traffic cones where there's 30 feet of gravel. Idiot in front of us STOPS! So I lightly tap the horn. Now two people flipping us off...s-l-o-w-l-y go ahead...so I scoot around and go. Now they nail it...the fight is on...but we made it fine. Now I make sure car's ok, idiots went on their way.

I hate people who do things like that. If somebody wants to play games they should buy a Monopoly board.
