You can disagree all that you want. Yet it's still been considered a word for longer than most of us have been around.
Definitely longer than Ive been around 😂

How about "hot water heater"? If the water is already hot, why do you need a heater?

Yes, I know about hot water "boosters" restaurants for example use them to bring the standard water heater temperature up quite a bit for there dish washing machines ...
Then there’s DEF fluid we all like to talk about here.. Diesel exhaust fluid fluid 😁

Oh. Thank you for clearing this one up. I always thought that you must have fluid in your ears, making you hard of hearing!
🤪
My wife says I should stop drinking that stuff because she's getting tired of repeating herself!

Flammable and inflammable. Same meaning.

Didn't do nothing appears to be accept as well. Big list of misuse of the English language.
Across the pond "Just about" means you got it done, I hear almost got it done.

Whatever works....
Did you know that you can now buy nothing? Just heard about it this morning...

Available for zero dollars?

Well I see that inflation has hit even nothing

Of the small business owners I know and have talked to about it (one a tire shop) there's a common thread. Wanna keep employees? Don't be open on Saturday. Open at 7am... stay open 'til 6pm... fine. No weekends. And this was before the damnpanic.
damnpanic
I'll be using that more proper term for the plandemic

"Important updates to our agreement"... then the entire 41 page document is attached so that it's virtually impossible to glean what's been changed.
This is a big peeve of mine as I do tend to read them, although not as thoroughly as I probably should. It would be better if those changes were shown as a stand alone document.

A peeve related to this forum - members who don't list their location, even approximately. Why do I care? Sometimes its nice to know what part of the country/world their biases come from.
Okay... where is the South Yuba river?

/ What is some of your Pet Peeve's #3,016
I just Googled South Yuba River and the results are accurate. Like most posters on this site, I don't provide my actual address, rather a general location.
"the Yuba River originating in the northern Sierra Nevada at Lake Angela in Nevada County about three quarters of a mile north of Donner Pass, about three miles east of the town of Soda Springs"

Just listing the state, would help.

Pictures make it look pretty, but the description doesn't help much, or pinpoint to anywhere. That's okay.

I'll fix it if I can.

That's Frank Zappa. I am a major fan, have been for years. I tried to find a picture of him and a tractor for this forum.
Gotta love some Dynamo Hum. I was a bit of a fan back in the early 80's although I was kind of late to the party I suppose. Ship too Late to Save a Drowning Witch came out my senior year of high school. Loved the cover art. 😁 I seem to align quite closely with Frank RIP when it comes to politics.

In a 1991 interview, Zappa reported that he was a registered Democrat but added "that might not last long—I'm going to shred that."[152] Describing his political views, Zappa categorized himself as a "practical conservative."[nb 13] He favored limited government and low taxes; he also stated that he approved of national defense, social security, and other federal programs, but only if citizens are willing and able to pay for them.[1]: 315–316, 323–324, 329–330  He opposed military drafts, saying that military service should be voluntary.[153] He favored capitalism, entrepreneurship, and independent business, stating that musicians could make more from owning their own businesses than from collecting royalties.[154] He opposed communism, stating, "A system that doesn't allow ownership... has—to put it mildly—a fatal design flaw."[1]: 315–316, 323–324, 329–330  He had placed messages on his album covers to encourage his fans to register to vote; further, throughout 1988, Zappa had registration booths at his concerts.[11]: 348  He even considered running for president of the United States as an independent.[11]: 365 [155]
