( All of the auxillary hydraulic functions of the Cub Cadets (lift, power steering, remotes, ect) are powered by the charge pump for the hydrostatic pump system. A seperate pump to run these functions was never used. )

Section 10 of the Series 3000 Technical Handbook shows pictures of the Removal and Replacement of the Hydraulic Steering Pump. It shows pressure lines from the Charge Pump to Steering Pump and Steering Pump to both Front and Rear of Steering Cylinder.
This is the Cub Cadet 3000 Series Char-Lynn 2 Series Steering Control.

Ok, so now I'm back to (my normal) just-plain confused. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The charge pump for the hydrostatic transmission supplies oil to ALL hydraulic functions. The power steering "pump" is force fed by the hydro charge pump. If the hydro charge pump dies, nothing (hydraulically) works or moves.

That's correct - if the charge pump dies nothing works but the steering pump contains a gerotor and is a pump in/of itself. If the steering pump fails the lift, tractor drive and other functions will still work but the steering would be lost. I guess we're splitting hairs here.
