I have driven lots of different exotic and classics cars, so the best is the one you are working on at that moment! Right now I hope its the Unimog I'm working on. Hope to get it to move under its own power by this weekend!

Driving a Mack CF fire engine to a working fire at a factory 10 miles away in heavy traffic. Driving on the wrong side of the road, watching people moving out of the way was soooooo much fun. Air horns, mechanical and electronic siren going full blast the entire time.

Driving our volunteer fire department's old military surplus deuce and a half to fires was definitely NOT fun to me. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif It took a lot of muscle and a lot of steering wheel turning to turn that thing.

The coolest thing ever that I got to drive was at the Snake River Stampede, a rodeo, in Nampa, Id. My grandfather was on the board and that year one of the entertainers was Ken Curts, aka Festus on Gunsmoke. Everynight we got to ride in the stagecoach as it came out for his introduction. One night he asked me to sit up top with him and help drive the team. We drove in on an eight hitch stagecoach. I was only eight at the time. About halfway around the arena he hands the reins over to me and the crowd went wild. I'll never forget that night or the man. What a great guy he was.

What kind of entertaining did he do at the rodeo? Festus was one of my favorite characters, but I guess everyone knows Ken Curtis also used to sing with the Sons of the Pioneers, one of my favorite singing groups. And of course, he was in a number of movies as well.

He was just Festus, Bird!! That was entertainment enough. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif He did some of the announcing with Bob Tallman, autographs, award presentations, etc.
