What is the deal with apostrophes from mobile?

If the quote is from an iPhone and quoted from an iPhone will it always be ok?

Or does it get messed up from the internet sending company or router. My iPhone is wifi from my home router which send through cable internet. Ill try again later when I'm out of range from my home wifi wifi signal and using local towers. My router is connected to a M-Cell that enhances the signal to the iPhone. Could that be the different factor that creates this anomaly?

No, it is in the TBN app (I believe). It doesn't care how you are connecting to the internet.

And now quoting from iPhone with the app I can’t get it to mess up.

It would be nice to hear from an admin. I am guessing this is a database issue (likely using PHP) and the database doesnt support storage of Unicode characters. That may be incorrect. I am curious what it would take to rememdy the situation.

Just checking from an iPhone.

The mobile programing must be Apple friendly, even the slanted apostrophes show up correct.

Hmm, on what devise did you grab the quote and re-post it from?

I am on a home computer, Chrome and WiFi with an At&t cell tower. It messes up the good ones when I Quote a reply also.

Vertical apostrophes (') are fine, it's the slanted ones that are a problem. There are various operating systems which change the vertical ones to with slanted ones when you reply to a post and this causes the formatting to get messed up.

If I delete and replace the mess in my Quote, they are good.

I changed the bottom two in the Quote above with a vertical '

That's messed up. That looked correct in his post but it's messed up when I quoted it.

Plain vanilla stuff. A PC/Intel clone, Windows 7 / Firefox here at home in town.

No app. No WiFi. EthernetOverPowerline from an ATT fiber router to the desktop PC.

Same result out at the ranch. Same software. PC clone laptop, WiFi, ATT U-Verse (DSL) router.

I thinks it's some sort of mis-translation within the VB forum software. Quoting TBN in a TBN post, using a PC, should be a 1:1 quote. It's interesting that when using some, not all, Apple devices, the quotes seem to come through correctly! Maybe VB is optimized for iPhone?
