I was looking at metal buildings. I found this and the price with delivery and install sure sounds inviting. Also they say 29 ga steel which is what I think a good pole barn is.

I know a pole barn has a wood frame but isn't this as good?

The 22 by 36 is the size I am considering. Right now my tractor is in a 10x16 wood shed.... This would be a good upgrade. I would store my tractor, an 18' car carrier trailer and hope to have room for a work bench.

Thanks,
Bill

Well, the price is good, but I'd want 27 gauge metal. Smaller number is thicker metal, like wire. I reckon ye have ye land all leveled out for them? They probably require that. Keep us posted.

Just looking right now. Have a spot picked out, but the LS will need to do some work to clear some brush and flatten the spot out. Around here, I would expect a pole barn this size to be 8-10K.... Have not priced one in a while though.

I thought 29 ga (0.0135 inch) was rather thin. I've been looking at similar buildings.
/edit
For instance Home Depot sells a "Temloc" brand which is 18 ga (0.0478 inch) which includes 2 windows and a floor frame, for about twice the price in what I'm looking for - a 12x20.

I'm in same situation. My place is sloping though, plus about 30 pines I have to cut to get it ready. I think I'll check with that company too, since even if I build a pole barn, I want to put siding on.

Yeah, I wouldn't want 29 gauge.

Looks like they offer a heavier gage roof supports (12 or 14). Maybe they have heavier roof side metal too. I agree, 27 would be better.

Great prices, but I'd be concerned about building height, not to mention the small doors. I wouldn't be able to fit my truck through a 9x7 door, let alone my cab tractor.

Nothing wrong with 29 gauge. Most people use it for walls here. If you worry a lot about hail dents, 26 for the roof is the usual option, but a lot of roofs are done with 29.

You know Kenny, you're right, 29 gauge would be fine. Actually, that's what my metal roof is, nary a problem in many years. I just have this old fashioned idea of way over building, but if you really don't need to, no use to do it. I need to rethink my storage barn too.

Built a 24x30x10 pole barn last summer for just under $8K. Gravel floor.
