What is the hole for in my BB?

Okay now hear is a real laugh for you ...

When I read the title I was thinking BB (box blade) I studied that picture and for the life of me was trying to figure how the heck that blade worked ... I zoomed in and out and then it hit me ... BB (Ballast Box) ... I think??

When stored upside down empty (like mine), it lets the rain water drain out.??? Nah.... Probably has something to do with the manufacturing/painting process???? Maybe

For an umbrella "for the wife when she rides in there" was my first thought too. My second thought was "for gawd sake man, get her a better seat to sit on".

Depends upon the wife ... some may not qualify as ballast.

I thought the same thing when I read the title and just had to come see why a hole would be in a box blade - never saw one with a square hole before.:laughing:

Realized what BB was right away when I saw the picture of the ballast box since I have the same one. So, started to reply with something like "that's funny, I have the Kubota BB and don't have a hole like that in mine". Thought I should add a picture of mine so went out to take one. By golly, there sure enough is the same hole in mine. Never even noticed it before. If you ever figure out what it's for, let me know!!
