What is the most useless piece of equipment

Perhaps the dictionary definition is the one that is diffused. The word, useless, is easily divided into use-less. If I use it less, is it useless? If useless is an absolute meaning no use whatsoever, then isn't most useless a misnomer? How can something be more or most useless if useless is an absolute? Isn't that implying less than zero? Hey, I understand what you are saying, but I'm just bein' a bit of the devil's advocate here.

What is the most useless piece of equipment?

The one you never use, that you have for sale, that nobody will buy.

... And why? because its useless. The redundant adjective only helps drive home the inherent meaning. Its a big huge issue. For language perfection take a look at the choice of infringe in the 2nd amendment. It makes all gun control unconstitutional.

I am truly surprised at all the folks that say they never use their box blade. I rarely take mine off! I have used it to doze MASSIVE amounts of dirt, smooth gravel roads, break up hard soil (every other tooth all the way down) and it will plow snow fairly well in reverse too.

I would agree with one earlier post about the hay tedder. In the past few years we have replaced every other hay tool we had with new ones but still have the first and only tedder my Grandfather ever bought. We never even used it this year.

It seems that old saying about different strokes for different folks is so true.

Of the dozen or so implements/equipment I've bought for using with the tractor the most usless for my use was the Pats Quick change system. I will say they were a quality product and well made but with all of the different attachments usage and clearance around the pin issues I had with them I'm glad their gone.

I use all of my attachments at one time or another when their needed. Some get used lot more than others. The one I couldn't be without is the FEL and next is my BB. They compliment each other.

Any ground engaging implement built too light do do what it was designed for and too flimsy to add weight to. Pretty much anything for TSC. For me it would be the 2400 pound counterweight I bought at an auction because it was cheap. I usually have either the mower or boxblade to take care of that. I see the three pt disk as a useless piece.

I must be the only guy who likes to keep the 3 point empty cause I never seem to use the same implement for any length of time. The blower does sit on there all winter I guess.

I think the spirit of thread was supposed to be about implements that are gimicks or don't do what they are supposed to do. In that spirit, I didn't buy it but a friend had a bale buster that was supposed to take straw bales and blow them onto his strawberries for winter. It didn't work at all. Another friend bought a bale unroller that is supposed to feed into a small square baler. It doesn't work well for baling, great for unrolling.

I read this with a smile. But I totally agree. You can also change the word "tractor" to any mechanical vehicle. I feel the same about each of my Jeeps individually. When I'm running the roadgrader I feel the same. It's a rare occassion when one of these surprises me. I always know what's about to happen and why. Even when it's about to go bad. I think that's what a good operator should know.
