Whoops..forgot about the ammeter dipping. Yup it glows in START position too.

That's my method on my Taskmaster, watch that ammeter, already in place and gives a good indication. I get about the same readings current draw wise as Greg.

Thank's to everybody that answer my question. I change the original oil filter for a aftermarket one an now I have a lot of oil pressure. I change all the oil in my tractor the first day a get it but I use a Jinma oil filter and since then I have no oil pressure. My new aftermarket filter fix that problem.

If you have an ammeter, you can actually "see" the glow plugs energize and heat. As soon as they draw amperage, the needle dips sharply negative. The fact that resistance changes with temperature is why you can actually "see" the GPs heating up, you just have to keep your eye on the ammeter needle movement. Mine would dip to somewhere between -25 and -30 amps initially, and I'd hold the keyswitch at HEAT until the amperage draw decreased to about -12 or so. At that point I switched the key over to START.

That there is a lovely bit of info. I look forward to using it! :D
