So much great advice! Definitely decided to get teh farmall up and running. It is a 1949 M...once I have gotten that far then maybe it will be time to look at something else! Probably a used riding mower in my future for the house area...

$500-$1000 spent on restoring the Farmall M to operational level will be money well spent. It may not have a front loader, but it will do many things around your homestead. You can slowly aquire implements at a bargain price. The Farmall just happens to fall in that size catagory for implements that is bargain priced currently, too big for compact tractors, too small for the full time farmer.
