What is the time frame to edit a thread title? 30 minutes?

I'm trying to think of why someone would not want someone to know that they've edited their post. Probably obvious but what am I missing?

I personally try to reread my post before submitting it. But my reread is just as bad as my typing. I have been typing for over 50 years, and can type as fast as talking... with the usually errant use of there and their, typing you instead of your, etc.... After this reread... I always find stuff I messed up... and want to correct it before my slaughtering of the english language is know by all ..... Some people can talk without thinking, and sadly, I do both....
